About CAPreneurs

Innovation, Create, LEAP!  CAPreneurs are entrepreneurs from the Capricorn Coast region who are actively pursuing a high growth potential business idea, or who are looking to take their existing business to the next level – global!

The purpose of the incubator hub is to support and empower the local startup community to gain traction nationally and internationally, and build their companies with support from, but not reliance on, government initiatives going forward.  


Livingstone Shire Council is committed to supporting the growth of the CAPrenuers to continue to grow the local innovation ecosystem as it gains traction. With the ultimate aim of supporting a critical mass of startup leaders playing a long term game to become commercially successful in national and international markets.

The CAPreneurs is a group for entrepreneurial minded and business savvy people who get together regularly to collaborate and share ideas. We provide access to a broad range of innovation mentors that provide mentorship and support for startups and innovators at the Capricorn Coast. 

Introducing our Innovation Mentors

Sonia Barber

Principal Economic Development & Innovation Officer (LSC) – dedicated to building innovation in new and existing businesses and identifying emerging growth opportunities.

Jan Anfruns

Manager Economy & Places LSC – Entrepreneurial thinker, who thrives on learning, exploring, and mastering new skills. Innovator and problem solver, who excels in bringing disparate ideas together in creative ways to solve problems. 

Kris Trevilyan

Kris Trevilyan is a serial investor and mentor of startups. She has joined the Livingstone Shire Council for two days a week until June 2020 to co-facilitate the 12 week Startup Onramp programme. 

Tami Holzman - California

An entrepreneurial business development executive with experience

at a Fortune 100 firm as well as start-ups. Savvy relationship builder skilled at identifying niche markets within industries. 

Linda McCall - Europe

Linda has extensive global experience, success and qualifications in both building and mentoring successful early stage businesses, startup businesses, providing ideation stage training programs and workshops.

Mark Phillips - Europe

Mark is one of Queensland’s leading innovation mentors also with extensive global experience in growing and mentoring innovation.  A trained Chartered Accountant with over 30 years’ experience in the technology industry with greats such as KPMG, Apple and Microsoft.

Jonathan Brake - North Carolina

John has similar global experience and regularly mentors startups in Africa, NZ, Central Asia, and Australia.

If you are interested in having a one on one session with one of our innovation mentors, we invite you to book a time and outline what you would like to discuss.  

Please keep in mind that places are limited and the objective of the Innovation Mentors one-on-one coaching sessions are to assist local talent grow their businesses on a global scale.  Examples of discussions could include brainstorming business model ideas, branding and sales funnel, methods of testing market validation, how to pitch the innovation to different audiences.
